Growing Care is a charitable organisation run by the founders, Lewis and Jacquie Aubry. This particular project started in 2002 with the purchase of land in Siminoc, Southern Romania. This has now been turned into a smallholding rearing livestock and growing crops to help feed the animals. The charity is run entirely by volunteers, only the locally employed Romanian workers are paid, which does a bit to help the local economy

Nicolettas family
The father from one of the families we have often helped in the past, recently died and we reported all the funeral details in one of our usual weekly diaries: First I have to tell you that Laura's father, Stefan, has lost his battle with throat cancer, he died on Saturday.

Nicoletta gave birth prematurely, which was probably caused by all the stress. The little baby girl was initially kept in hospital until her breathing stabilised.

Would you, your family, your club, your church or a company be willing to contribute just £200 a month to support a family of mum and six children, so they are not split up by the Romanian authorities?
Maybe you could manage just part of the total amount required, that's fine because if we can get twenty people each contributing £10 a month the family can stay together.

He was 39 years old and leaves a wife, Nicoletta, and six children (Laura, Florin, Ionuts and Dana are regulars at Kids Club); another child is expected in June. Please pray for the family, they will need all the support they can get over the coming months. We were then surprised to learn that only days after the funeral, the authorities were arranging to split up the family.

They had already found someone to adopt the baby and another family to adopt the two year old child, three children were to go into an orphanage with just two being allowed to stay with their mum.
It seems cruel, to say the least, that only days after their dad died they were told the family would be split up because the mother had no means of support.
Growing Care want to find them a suitable home and set them up in it, with mum working part time at the small holding so she does not feel she is simply taking a handout. In all we think just £200 a month would be sufficient to cover all their living costs.
